This September in Mammoth is for cycling and concerts! With 2 bike-centric events and a performance featuring a Grammy-nominated artist, there’s no time like the fall to enjoy all Mammoth Lakes has to offer. With the Alpenhof Lodge as your home base and Mammoth Lakes as your playground, your September vacation in the Eastern Sierra will be one to remember (and repeat). Here are a few fun fall festivities to frequent:
September 7th: Mammoth Gran Fondo
- Online registration closes on September 4, 2024 at 5:00pm PST
- With 3 routes of varying difficulty and length, this bike race event has something for every enthusiast:
- Piccolo, 42 miles, 2,252 feet of climbing.
- Medio, 70 miles, 3,499 feet of climbing.
- Gran Fondo, 102 miles, 6,804 feet of climbing.
- Not a rider? Supporting a competitor? Maybe you just want to experience the event? Volunteers can earn hours towards awesome rewards; such as, future Mammoth Gran Fondo entries, Mammoth Mountain lift tickets, and more.
September 13 – 15th: Third Annual Outbound Music Series
- Location: Outbound parking lot adjacent to Bar Sierra
- Tickets required: currently $59 (early bird pricing)
- Public event on September 14th:
- At 2PM the courtyard opens to the public to enjoy a pop-up Makers Market featuring local food vendors, music, makers and artisans.
- At 5PM doors to non-ticket holders will close.
- Solo Show doors open to ticket holders and hotel guests at 6PM, after 7PM you may not exit and re-enter until the headlining act is over. Grammy-nominated RY X takes the stage for an outdoor, starlit concert with special guest, John-Robert.

September 13 – 15: Mammoth Tuff
- Registration closes Sept 11, 2024 @ 6:00 PM PST
- Event details: “Friday starts with free group rides from Footloose, registration alongside the infamous beer mile in the Village, and a rider meeting. Saturday offers three riding distances to choose from and there’s food and a free concert in the Village for after the ride. Sunday morning wraps up the weekend with our awards ceremony and TUFF raffle.” (Visit Mammoth)
- Friday, September 13:
- Shakeout Rides from 11am – 12:30pm.
- There are 2 rides to choose from, both starting at Footloose Sports at 3043 Main St. in Mammoth Lakes.
- Mammoth BUFF at 4:35 pm
- Location: The Village at Mammoth
- Online Registration Deadline: Wednesday, Sep 11, 2024 at 6:00 PM PT. Total Event Registration Limit: 100
- Race: 3 laps of Lincoln House building in the Village. Distance: 3 x 0.3 mile
- Format: Drink 12oz beer, Run 0.3mi, Drink 12oz beer, Run 0.3mi, Drink 12oz beer, Run 0.3mi, Finish!
- You must run all three laps and drink 3x12oz beers to get a finishing time within 25 minutes of the timing start. Beer brand TBD. You will be given a 19.2oz can of Liquid Death to take home with you and keep murdering your thirst.
- Sober? No problem! We will have 12-0z sparkling water and/or NA Athletic Brewing cans available for you.
- Shakeout Rides from 11am – 12:30pm.
- Saturday, September 14: Bike races (below are the stats from 2023 – 2024 course info will be released the week of 9/9/24).
- Tuffest – 7:30am start, 106.9 Miles (First 5.1 neutral) +7,570 ft
- Tuffer – 7:55am start, 70.7 Miles (First 1.9 neutral) +3,916 ft
- Tuff – 8:20am start, 40.3 Miles (First 3.7 neutral) +2,341 ft
- Sunday, September 15: Awards and Raffle, 8:30 – 10:30am at the Village Plaza/Stage
